// webs · the map

Three webs, one economy.

Your company already exists in the first. It is being read in the second. It is barely present in the third. The book is about what that costs, and what to do about it.

HUMAN WEB

established

People search, compare and decide. Everything you already know how to measure lives here.

  • Clicks
  • Traffic
  • Attention

AI WEB

observable

Models read, summarise and recommend. You are described to buyers who never reach your site.

  • Understanding
  • Recommendations
  • Selection

MACHINE WEB

emerging

Agents transact with agents. What cannot be verified by a machine cannot be bought by one.

  • Transactions
  • Outcomes

// framework · six verbs

Six verbs, in order.

The spine of the book. Each verb is a chapter, a question, and something you can check on your own company by Friday.

01DISCOVERFind out how you are actually described when you are not in the room.
02DECLAREState who you are, what you sell and what you are accountable for, in a form both readers and machines can parse.
03DECIDEChoose what you will be found for. A company that wants to be found for everything is found for nothing.
04PROVEAttach evidence to every claim. In the AI Web, an unevidenced claim is not repeated.
05DELIVERMake the outcome reachable, not just describable — an endpoint, a booking, a quote.
06VERIFYCheck that it still holds. Presence is a state that decays, not a project that finishes.

// check · the chapter that does not fit on paper

Run the map on your own company.

The book explains the three webs in general. This runs the same table against your domain and shows where you are present, where you are described by someone else, and where you do not exist at all.

One domain, one result, no account. If you read the book, the result uses the same three columns you already know how to read.

// author · who wrote this and why it can be trusted

Dan Ionescu, founder of the ADI Framework.

Two decades inside large enterprise IT, then a decade building the thing the book describes. The argument is not a forecast — it comes from watching how discovery stopped being a search problem and became an infrastructure problem, first in banking, then everywhere.

The framework in this book is built and operated, not only written about. The working systems live at 5thelement.ai.

// editions · registry

Six editions, one book.

Amazon does not connect its marketplaces to each other. This table does. Each edition sells in its own store, under its own ISBN.

ISBNs appear here as each edition is registered. This page reads them from /specs/editions.json, which is the only place they are written.

// proof · verification layer

What a machine can verify about this book.

A book arguing that presence is moving toward machines should be legible to them. Identity, authorship, editions and publisher are published in structured form on this page.

// faq · answers in writing

Questions people actually ask.

Do I need to be technical to use the book?

No. The six verbs are business decisions, not implementations. Where something has to be built, the book says what it must do and what to ask for — not how to code it.

Is this a book about SEO?

No. SEO is one column of the map — the Human Web. The book is about what happens in the other two, where the reader has no dashboard and usually no idea they are being described.

Why only six languages?

These are the languages where a single print-ready interior serves every market without a second production line. More editions mean a second line, which is a decision rather than an addition. A Romanian edition is planned outside Amazon, which does not support the language.

Will the book date quickly?

Parts of it will. The tools move monthly; the economics do not. Where a specific fact ages, the correction is published on this page rather than left to sit in the printed copy.

Can I quote it, teach from it, or buy copies for a team?

Yes to all three. Write to the publisher for permissions, bulk copies or a talk.

What does the check actually do with my domain?

It looks at what is publicly readable about your company across the three webs and returns the same table the book uses. One domain, one result. Nothing is published and nothing is sold to you afterwards.
